While exploring the depths of The Chasm in Genshin Impact, you will encounter a giant mushroom Xamaran whom you will interact with to start the Dimming Mushroom's Call for Help quest.
In this quest, you will have to follow the water's flow and search for the source of the foul energy to go one step closer to completing it. However, you don't get any directions about which side to go to, and thus, you are on your own.
In addition to that, the confusing directions of The Chasm will make it more difficult for you to move further. In that case, you can follow this guide to reach the foul energy's soul and complete the quest.
In order to complete this quest, you can simply teleport to The Glowing Narrows using the teleport waypoint and star running north from there along the water.
You will then encounter three Abyss Mages and you will have to fight them and use the Lumenstone Adjuvant to purify the area. You will then have to stand on the purified area and use the blessings of the wisdom on the source of the foul energy.
A mushroom will then grow out from within the fissure and a chest will that you can open to get various rewards.
Then you need to go back to Xamaran and talk to him to complete the Dimming Mushroom's Call for Help quest and earn The Mushroom That Asks Too Much achievement.
